The Granite Reliable Power 99MW windpark (33 3MW turbines) is proposed for installation in Coos County, New Hampshire in 2010. VERA identified this site as part of a regional-scale wind siting effort for its client. VERA performed early site assessments and design strategy while assisting with land owner negotiations. VERA then assisted with the design and implementation of the public outreach program, and with the design and permitting of the wind resource assessment program. Progress led to preliminary designs for the wind facility and eventually, VERA took the leading role in the preparation of the state-level permit application that was filed with the New Hampshire Siting Evaluation Committee in 2008. Additionally, VERA provided ongoing support services including GIS project mapping and viewshed and photographic simulations.
With its favorable wind resource, the Granite Reliable Power Windpark is ideally positioned to provide clean energy and economic benefits for a state-wide initiative to increase electric power generation from renewable energy resources. The New Hampshire State Evaluation Committee has granted Granite Reliable Power, LLC, a Certificate of Site and Facility, and construction is planned to begin in 2010.
Noble Environmental Power contracted for VERA’s wind power development services in 2006, recognizing VERA’s 20+ years of project management services, wind project siting and GIS expertise, wind resource assessment services, and Northeast permitting experience.
